Raymond Randolph
Raymond was a member of the crew in the 1968 Thames Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. It was the rubber match between Harvard and Cornell that year, as well as a showdown between the previous two victors of the Thames Cup. (Harvard in ‘66, Cornell in ‘67)
An added bit of history, of course, is that it drew the attention of HRH Prince Phillip, who piloted his own red helicopter to Henley for the race, landed in the field next to Leander Club and was named the “honorary referee” for the race. (Todd allegedly protested saying he preferred someone with more experience!) It also displaced the Cornell and Harvard parents from the referees' race launch to accommodate the Prince and some Stewards … and of course it is the only other Cornell lightweight crew to reach the Thames cup (or other) Henley finals. In the end, Cornell came out victorious by 2+ lengths.
