Alumni and Current Rowers Compete at Independence Day Regatta

Many Cornell rowers could be found along the Schuylkill this weekend at the Independence Day Regatta. Highlights for alumni might have been the Father/Daughter race where the top three finishers were all propelled by Cornell Alumni. Kelly Albanir '16 and her dad Alan won by beating last year's champs Alice Rudolph-Shabinsky '18 and her dad Ivan '86. Third place went to Peter Klose '89 and his daughter Celeste - a rising sophomore in high school. Alice redeemed herself the next day by stroking the Rockland Rowing Intermediate 4x to victory. Also seen at IDR were Alex Smith '16 (HWT) and Theo Pritz '15 (HWT), as well as Grace Tucker '17 - who wasn't quite ready to row again yet but was cheering on her boyfriend Chris Rodgers '15 (LTW) who was rowing for Riverside.
