Head of the Charles Highlights

Cornell did well at the Head of the Charles. While everyone enjoyed the absolutely spectacular weather, the camaraderie and the festive atmosphere, some Cornell rowers also enjoyed racing success. Below are those crews who finished in the top-5 in their races, plus one special mention:

Men's Senior Master Eights: Cambridge BC, with three Cornell alumni (Kalfelz '88, Kennett '91 and Goddard '88) finished 4th

Men's Senior Master Fours: Cornell University Alumni (Barclay '86, Boericke '86, Stanton '87, Rudolph-Shabinsky '86) finished 5th

Men's Alumni Eights: BMA (Kerry Quinn '10, Daniel O'Neill '17, Christopher Rogers '15, Michael Colella '16, Ryan Allen '15, Dan Hutchison '10. Drew Tennant '04. Peter Harris '15. Kyle Traub '11) finished 1st!

Women's Alumni Eights: BMA (Emma Gelbard '15, Solveig Imsdahl '13, Tracy Eisser '12, Kate Roach '15, Kelly Albanir '16, Lydia Perkins '16, Caroline Crawford '17, Elyce Buell '15, Ellen Barrett '16) finished 3rd

Women's Masters Eights: BMA (Chris Bassler '88, Tory Canfield '92, Jill Hathaway '90, Andrea Thies '89, Emily Mastrianni '89, Julie Dickson '94, Sunja Edmunds '89, Susan VanderMeer '90, Tiffany Doggett '92) finished 4th

Men's Championship Doubles: Penn AC with Theo Pritz '15 finished 5th.

Directors' Challenge Men's Quad: CBC with John Grant '88 stroking finished 3rd, while Mike Totta in the MBORC/MRA/UVRF composite finished 4th.

Men's Championship Fours: Special mention for RowLA with Alex Karwoski, who rowed the 2nd fastest time down the course, but finished 10th...

Women's Championship Eights: the US Training Center - Princeton boat with Tracy Eisser '12 finished 2nd

Current Cornell Teams also had strong results, which have been written up on the Cornell Athletic Department website. To summarize, Men's Lightweight Four finished 4th, Men's Lightweight Eight finished 2nd, Women's Championship Four finished 2nd and Men's Heavyweight Eight finished 12th.
